FRIDAY 8 APRIL 2022, AT 10.30 AM saw the inaugural meeting of BEXHILL JUST FRIENDS WALKING GROUP. A happy band of 11 walkers, 8 ladies and 3 gentlemen set off from the rear of the De la Warr Pavilion for a bracing walk along Bexhill promenade. After an hour we stopped for coffee at the Sovereign Light Cafe – much laughter ensued!

JUST FRIENDS, BEXHILL were invited to have a promotional stand at the first Annual General Meeting and Awards Ceremony of the Bexhill Town Council from 4.30pm to 7pm on Friday 13th May 2022. The Bexhill JUST FRIENDS took their monthly walk along the seafront on a glorious sunny day led by Tricia Clifford. Here they are having a well earned rest at the Oceanside Beach cafe in Glyne Gap.

Bexhill Walking Group had a great walk on Friday 8 July 2022. Our guide was Andrez Kolawaski. We walked through Polegrove and Egerton Parks to try and keep in the shade. The hottest day of the year so far. Great fun and we all enjoyed a coffee and chat afterwards.

The sky and sea were blue, the sailing club had yacht and canoe racing and many people of all ages were happily swimming in the sea. We ended up having ice cream in the Sovereign Light Cafe. On Friday 9 December 2023 14 members of BEXHILL JUST FRIENDS intended to walk around the Old Town of Bexhill and learnt about the history of the area, including going into the medieval church of St Peter’s, which was the first Parish Church in Bexhill, to be granted a Charter in 772, and being given to the church with an endowment for building this magnificent church. St Peter’s has 12 large bells in the tower which are rung every week. The sun shone all morning and once the walk was over we went into Jimmi’s coffee shop in Church Street for coffee and many breakfasts! Our leader was John Norris. The next walk on Friday 12 January 2024 at 10.30 am will start at the old railway station in Terminus Road, Bexhill. The leader again will be John Norris who can be contacted on 07476-817283.

Welcome to Just Friends Bexhill

Just Friends is a welcoming community for people who live on their own. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, enjoy friendly conversation or become part of a supportive local community, we’d love to welcome you.

Many of our members came along on their own for the first time. There is no pressure, just a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where friendships can grow naturally.

Our social meetings take place on the first and third Friday of each month, from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Town Square Social, 4 to 6 London Road, Bexhill on Sea, TN39 3JU.

Entry to our social meetings is £1.50, which includes entry into our three prize raffle.

On the second Friday, members usually meet for a coffee before enjoying a relaxed stroll together. You’re welcome to join the stroll or simply stay for a coffee and a chat. On the fourth Friday, members meet for our monthly lunch at a local venue, where everyone simply pays for their own meal.

There is no membership fee to join Just Friends. If it’s your first visit, you’re very welcome to come along to one of our social meetings to see whether it’s right for you.
